While strip clubs have often been considered to be rather raunchy environments, they definitely are not venues where “anything goes.” That’s certainly what one foreign tourist who visited an Orlando strip club recently learned.
The 27-year-old tourist from Perth, Australia, was arrested and charged with simple assault after deliberately “passing gas” in the face of a stripper who was giving him a lap dance at a strip club located in Orlando on Orange Blossom Trail.
The club’s assistant manager described the assault that occurred approximately at 1 a.m. on a recent night. Apparently after entering a private room with the stripper for a lap dance, the Aussie tourist created a ruse where he announced that the chair he had been reclining in was wet.
He then bent over, requesting that the dancer inspect his pants to see if they had gotten wet. As she complied, he then broke wind “loudly for a sustained period” in her face.
The allegedly assaulted employee left and summoned bouncers who detained the tourist until police arrived and arrested him. According to a media outlet in Orlando, the tourist was suspected of being involved in a similar attack against an elderly woman. He is thought to be in the United States visiting relatives.
Authorities stated that he remained in custody pending a hearing to set bail in the matter.
If you are visiting Florida on vacation, it is possible that you could wind up running afoul of the local or state laws. Besides ruining an otherwise fun-filled vacation, the penalties of a conviction on charges can be severe. At the least, it is an inconvenience for tourists to have to return and deal with the legal consequences of their alleged actions.
If you wind up arrested here in Daytona, seeking out a criminal defense attorney to represent you can protect you and preserve your rights.
